Wilber's War: An American Family's Journey through World War II
Wilbers War is a deeply personal story of one family and the impact of the war on a soldier fighting in the Pacific theater during World War II and his family on the home front. This staged book talk, presented with professional and regional actors, is an epic tale of duty, heroism, love, infidelity and the tragedy.
The story, originally based on a series of detailed letters written by Bradt's father Norman, has been thoroughly researched to provide a fresh perspective on this momentous time period and those ordinary people that fought abroad and to preserve a family back home.
Wilbers War reconfirms that there are no small stories of life, said Cyr. It is an astonishing account of one family during war. A professor of physics at MIT, Hale Brandt is also a Navy veteran that served during the Korean War.
The event is a joint fundraiser with the Friends of Topsfield Town Hall group, created to initiate enhancements to the recent renovation of the historic Topsfield Town Hall. It is funded in part by a grant from the Topsfield Cultural Council.
