10th Anniversary Benefit Concert for the Roots Project
The 10th Anniversary Benefit Concert for the Roots Project located in Juba, South Sudan is headlined by the Yuval Ron Ensemble - https://yuvalronmusic.com/

The Ensemble unites East and West. Their music is a marriage of tradition and innovation. Notable compositions include music for the Oscar-winning short film, West Bank Story, site-specific commissions for the Getty Museum and others. His TV and film scores include the PBS/Nova special - Breaking the Maya Code.

The concert will also include songs by the Seattle Jewish Chorale - https://www.seattlejewishchorale.org and a dance performance by Selorm Tamakloe, a University of Washington African student. During the performance stories from the voices of the women in South Sudan will be read.

Anyieth D'Awol, founder of the Roots Project in 2009, will give a brief introduction.  Anyieth earned her LLM in Human Rights from Leicester University in the United Kingdom. After working for two years as a Human Rights Officer for United Nations Mission in Sudan, she founded the ROOTS PROJECT with the aim of providing a secure environment for women to pursue economic independence.

The benefit concert will feature Yuval Ron, vocalist Najwa Gibran, flutist Norik Manoukian and percussion Jamie Papish, who performed at the Philharmonia Hall in Yerevan, Armenia shown in the video.
