2x Juno Award and 21x Maple Blues Award winners MonkeyJunk return home for their first show of the year! They wil be joined by multiple Maple Blues Award winning Montreal-based band, The Paul Deslauriers Band and Keith Glass Band lead by Glass - former guitar player from Juno Award winning Prairie Oyster.

MonkeyJunk has won a collective 21 Maple Blues Awards, two Canadian Independent Music Awards, a Blues Music Award (USA) in 2010 for best new artist debut (Tiger In Your Tank), and have been nominated three times for a JUNO Award, winning the award twice for Blues Album of the Year in 2012 for To Behold and in 2018 for Time To Roll.

The name MonkeyJunk comes from Son House, who once said Im talking about the blues, I aint talking bout no monkeyjunk. But I am going to talk about MonkeyJunk  they are brilliant and have produced one of the best albums I have heard in a long time; Ten tracks that prove that this Canadian band is here to stay. And as Son House would have said if he had seen these boys: Im talking bout the blues, Im talking about MonkeyJunk!'  Bob Boncey, Blues Matters (UK)

The Paul DesLauriers Band is made up of guitarist and singer Paul DesLauriers and the rhythm section of Greg Morency on bass and Sam Harrisson on drums. Having worked together on various projects for nearly 20 years, the band has become bound by friendship and an unshakable mutual respect. Based on this history and an uncanny musical chemistry, in 2013 they decided to focus all their energy and talents to develop their distinctive power trio.

These Montreal-based, Canadian Blues veterans blend rock with straight-ahead blues in a way that echoes the vibe of the great power trios from the 60s and 70s, yet they take the music to another level via modern stylings and an attack thats free of clich├ęs. The aural texture of their music changes on a dime from guitar-driven pyrotechnic blazing to a much milder blues boogie with seamless ease. It's all wondrously peppered with pleasing funky bass lines and a swamp-blues backbeat.

Crowned Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row at the 21st annual Maple Blues Awards held on January 15th 2018 in Toronto, Canada; in 2017 along with Entertainer of the Year, they also won the Maple Blues Awards for Electric Act of the Year, Bassist of the Year (Greg Morency) and Drummer of the Year (Sam Harrisson). In January 2016 the band took 2nd place at the 32nd International Blues Challenge (IBC), the worlds largest gathering of blues acts, organized by The Blues Foundation. Held in Memphis Tennessee, they rose to the top to take the runner-up title in the Band category in a worldwide competition that saw 119 bands competing for a spot on the podium.

Their most recent release, the aptly titled Relentless (June 2016), is a genuine blues-rock escapade featuring 10 original new songs encompassing their most original and powerful work to date. Released to international critical acclaim, the album climbed to the #2 position on the Roots Music Report radio chart in Canada and to #10 in the USA. They are currently touring Canada, the USA and Europe in support of the album with notable performances past and present that include the Big Blues Bender in Las Vegas NV, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Tremblant International Blues Festival, Ottawa BluesFest, White Mountain, NH Boogie NBlues Festival, Heritage Music Blues Festival in Wheeling, WV and the Daytona Blues Festival among many others. Also released in Canada to unanimously excellent reviews, their self-titled 2014 album reached the #1 spot on the iTunes Canada Blues Chart within a month!

Keith Glass is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, bass), and producer, and a founding member, guitarist, and songwriter with Prairie Oyster, a group which has received critical acclaim, including multiple Juno and CCMA awards. Prairie Oyster is often cited as the countrys foremost roots/country band. They toured extensively in Canada, the U.S. and Europe over a career that spanned almost four decades. In 2008, Prairie Oyster was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Keith and his former band mates are also the recipients of a SOCAN lifetime achievement award.

Keiths musical career began with an acoustic band called The King City Slickers, which was the forerunner of Prairie Oyster. During a hiatus from that band he fronted his own group, The Glass Band, through the mid 1970s, playing a mix of rock n roll and R&B in clubs throughout Ontario, and was the guitarist in both the stage and screen productions of Hank Williams: the Show He Never Gave starring Sneezy Waters, aka Peter Hodgson, with whom he has also played many shows.

In recent years, he has been busy producing albums for numerous Eastern Ontario artists including Brock Zeman, Erin Driscoll, Trevor Alguire, Missy Burgess, Brea Lawrenson, Tony Turner, Greg Kelly and Howie Hooper, and playing and singing on countless others, including Lynn Miles and Lynne Hanson and The Lynn(e)s.

The last solo album (Bad Dog, named in honour of the family dog, Dusty RIP) shows Glass in his songwriting prime, offering beautiful ballads and rich storytelling. The majority of the album was recorded in his home studio as well as at Audio Valley Recording Studio.

More recently, Keith and Keith Glass Band (Alistair Dennett, Mike Turenne, Steve Trecarten) have produced a CD called The Easy Way, and  play regularly around Ottawa.
