MUSE (an experimental session of life drawing and discussion)
devised and facilitated by award-winning performer Cameryn Moore
In a world where we learn to hate the bodies of others and fear our own, MUSE offers a chance to find them instead. Located at the vibrant intersection of life drawing, observation, and discussion, MUSE is a true happening, an experience that is whatever you need it to be.
Created by critically acclaimed playwright/performer Cameryn Moore, in collaboration with curious peoplelike you!MUSE begins as a one-hour life drawing session, with Cameryn as the model. (She is one of only a few plus-size life-drawing models in Germany, if not Europe.) Further subverting the norm of such sessions, this life model also speaks, about her experiences of being in a body that is constantly under scrutiny, both in the studio and out in the world.
MUSE shifts and changes from session to session, depending on those attending and on Cameryn's own experiences at the point of each show. MUSE audiences may choose to watch, draw, listen, and ask questions, participating how and when they wish. Sketching materials will be available, but participants may also bring their own kit.
Awards for Cameryn's previous work include: Artistic Risk award, 2016 Vancouver Fringe, and Best Female Solo, 2010 San Francisco Fringe.
