This fundraiser supports the work of our all-volunteer organization. The work includes publication of Milwaukee Ethnic News, the website of 191 Milwaukee neighborhoods (see http://neighborhoodsinmilwaukee.org/index.html), over 100 oral histories of Milwaukee neighborhoods, 15 documentaries on Milwaukee neighborhoods and ethnic groups, a 12-year study on Milwaukees ethnic groups, numerous books on Milwaukee, the Milwaukee museum and exhibit project, a myriad of programs and stories for children (see http://www.teacheraidsforkidsmilwaukee.com/), and much, much more.
The ethnic feast includes potages and baked goods from five continents served up during two sessions. The offerings are courtesy of Milwaukee ethnic restaurants and indigenous chefs. Examples of dishes include Persian New Year soup, Ethiopian injera bread, Anzac (Australian) cookie biscuits, Polish mushroom potage, First Nations bannock bread, Texas eggplant chili, tortilla soup, and German sonnenblumenkerne.
