SHEPHERD: THE STORY OF A JEWISH DOG
Sunday, February 10, 2019 5:00 p.m. at the Museum of Tolerance
A beautiful, heartfelt and thought provoking film -- Lainie Kazan, Actress, Singer, Adjunct Professor UCLA
Shepherd: The Story of a Jewish Dog follows Kaleb, a beautiful German Shepherd who lives with a Jewish family in Germany in the 1930s. When a Nuremberg law is passed that Jews are no longer permitted to own pets, the family is forced to give Kaleb away and separate him from his beloved 10 year old master, Joshua. Kaleb eventually becomes a street dog until he is captured and trained to be a Nazi guard dog. What ensues during this terrible time is seen through the eyes of the dog.
Q&A with Director Lynn Roth and actor August Maturo (Girl Meets World) who plays Joshua.
