Event
Hope & Gravity
At the end of March 2018 we will be presenting a full production of Michael's Hollinger's "HOPE AND GRAVITY." When an elevator crashes in a major city, nine lives intersect in ways nobody could have foreseen -- through love, poetry and even dentistry, in offices, homes, and distant hotel rooms. By turns comic, emotional and deeply profound, "HOPE AND GRAVITY" traces the barely perceivable threads that connect us all.
When it opened in 2014 PBS Radio station WHYY Philadelphia said [Its] Michael Hollinger at his best: witty banter, well-turned phrases, and genuine characters that make us laugh; then something unexpectedly wonderful and mysterious lifts us to a new level. Gravity tugs us downward but hope allows us to soar, as HOPE AND GRAVITY shows. Noted theater director Jennifer Childs said, ...hysterical laughter and aching truth live side by side. I have been a fan of Michael's work since his first play. He has the ability to combine humor and pathos in a way that is incredibly human and to which every person can relate.
Critics acclaimed this play as "both laugh-out-loud funny and heart tugging personal, as the plays characters interact in varying combinations, as do we all in real life, all in nine ultimately related stories. Of this play the Dallas/Fort Worth Star-Telegram wrote Brilliantly structured and hilariously written.
Starting on March 28 and running through April 7, 2019, on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights, the ticket charge will be a. VIP seating at $50.00 per seat, b. General Admission at $35, and c. student tickets (with valid ID) at $20.
