Jonathan Dimmock organ concert
Internationally-acclaimed organist, Jonathan Dimmock, will perform a recital entitled Paris: Between the Wars featuring selections by Messiaen, Widor, Durufle, Vierne, Alain, and Guy Weitz on February 24, 2019, 3pm at Claremont United Church Congregational (CUCC), Claremont, CA. Dimmock's recital will be shown on a split-screen live video highlighting movements of his hands and feet.
Dimmock is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, Yale School of Music, Yale Divinity School, and is the first American to hold the post of Organ Scholar at Westminster Abbey in London. Dimmock currently serves as organist for the San Francisco Symphony and is the Principal Organist for the Legion of Honor Museum.
Dimmock has co-founded American Bach Soloists, is founding director of Artists' Vocal Ensemble, and is the founding president of Art to the Nations employing musicians in international negotiations in aid to conflict resolution.
Dimmock will play the 1998 Glatter-Goetz/Rosales organ, which is one of the premier organs in the US. This organ has 4,041 pipes, 77 ranks, 54 stops, is 42.5 feet tall, and weighs 28 tons. CUCC aims to become a showcase for sacred and classical music throughout the Inland Empire.
