Knocked Out Loaded presents: MONKS OF DOOM + VICTOR KRUMMENACHER & HIS FLYING CIRCUS
Knocked Out Loaded is thrilled to present the first-ever Savannah show by infamously baddass psychedelic prog-rock heroes MONKS OF DOOM -- currently reunited and touring in celebration of their recently released album THE BRONTE PIN, the band's first LP of new material in 25 years!
The band has enjoyed a rabid cult following worldwide since the mid-1980s when their first albums surfaced on the tiny California indie label Pitch-A-Tent Records, but they rarely perform live, and this will be the OPENING NIGHT of a short, 8-date U.S. Tour.
It's also the furthest South they'll appear. No dates in Florida, Alabama or South Carolina, so we hope to see some of you folks make the drive for this INTIMATE club show in a way-cool 120-capacity venue.
Unfamiliar with the MONKS? Try mixing the intense, polyrhythmic electric guitar mastery of KING CRIMSON with early, SYD BARRETT-era PINK FLOYD, 1970s French prog-hippies GONG and the energy and drive of late-'70s So-Cal punk and you might come close...
The band features THREE MEMBERS OF ALTERNATIVE-ROCK ICONS CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN (Victor Krummenacher, Chris Pedersen and Greg Lisher), plus ONE MEMBER of COUNTING CROWS (David Immergluck).
MONKS OF DOOM frontman VICTOR KRUMMENACHER opens the show with a full set backed by HIS FLYING CIRCUS, the backing band with which he has recorded the soon-to-be-released solo LP BLUE PACIFIC, which showcases a different sound for the singing guitarist and bassist: mellow, grooving Cosmic Cowboy-influenced pop and soul reminiscent of PETE TOWNSHEND'S early solo albums and THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS.
The entire show will run close to two-and-a-half hours and is easily one of the most can't-miss gigs of 2019.
It's also an EARLIER THAN USUAL SHOW FOR THIS VENUE, so DO NOT ARRIVE LATE.
VICTOR & HIS FLYING CIRCUS starts at 8:30PM, with the MONKS OF DOOM starting between 10 and 10:30PM.

Afterwards, stick around and drink with us as we'll be spinning vintage Psych/Prog/Folk/Punk and Art-Rock records into the wee hours.
