Birth, a play by Karen Brody
Birth is a critically-acclaimed documentary-style play that tells the birth stories of eight women, painting an alarming picture of how low-risk, educated mothers are giving birth today. Hailed The Vagina Monologues for birth by womens health expert Dr. Christiane Northrup, over 100 performances of the play Birth are happening in cities across America, including the 2008 production in Middletown, New Jersey, on Friday & Saturday September 5 & 6 at 7pm and Sunday Sept. 7th at 2pm, the month of Labor Day, to raise awareness and money for childbirth choices that work for mothers.
BOLD Performances and Talkbacks use a theatre-for-social-change model to raise awareness and money to improve childbirth for mothers.
ALL proceeds from the 2008 BIRTH production will benefit CIMS: The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services
