The Oriana Singers: The Book of Love
The Oriana Singers sing "The Book of Love." It's a cappella songs from people like Ben Folds and Imogen Heap, with other music going all the way back to the Renaissance and many points in between.
The Oriana Singers have been giving their classically-trained a cappella performances for nearly 40 years, mostly in the Chicago area but also nationally and on a couple of European tours. Their virtuoso singing has won awards and impressed audiences everywhere. Wynne Delacoma of the Chicago Sun-Times called the group a small ensemble with a large imagination, and John Von Rhein of the Chicago Tribune cheered their spirit-lifting difference.
You have two chances to hear "The Book of Love":
Saturday, February 9 in Oak Park, at First United Church of Oak Park, 848 Lake St.
Sunday, February 10 in Chicago at St. Josaphat Parish, 2311 N. Southport.
Admission is $20; students 18 and under FREE. Tickets are available at the door or in advance through Brown Paper Tickets.
