2013 - BOOT CAMP July 27th-28th
Gotham Girls Roller Derby is thrilled to invite you to join us for our Summer 2013 Boot Camp! All camps are staffed by members of our coaching committee, which includes skaters and managers of the 3-time WFTDA champions, the Gotham Girls Roller Derby All Stars.
Our summer camp will take place at Abe Stark Arena in Coney Island. Enjoy intensive training and cool off on the Coney Island Boardwalk mere steps away.
Camp will consist of both on-and off-skates classes of 1-hour sessions, followed by scrimmaging on both days of the camp. Instruction will cover the full range of roller derby topics including jamming, blocking, strategy, advanced skating skills.
Time: Saturday 7/27 Check in 9am - 10 am
Camp 10am-5pm (1 hour lunch break)
Sunday 7/28 Check in 9am - 10am
Camp 10am - 4pm (1 hour lunch break)
The cost of the 2-day Boot Camp is $200 for 11 hours of instruction and scrimmaging.
Injured/fresh meat/non skating attendees may observe the camp for a fee of $75.
Eligibility:
GGRD Boot Camps are designed for skaters who already know how to play roller derby. They are open only to female skaters who have passed their WFTDA Skills Tests and have been placed on a team in an existing league.
All participants MUST have proof of WFTDA or USARS insurance.
Please note that we reserve the right to cancel this camp and issue refunds with one week of notice in the case of insufficient interest.
There are NO refunds if you are unable to attend the class or do not meet the eligibility requirements.
