Taken from Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale," 'Gender Treachery' refers to homosexual acts, which are punishable by death in Atwood's dystopian world. At GTwJC, we are taking this term originally charged with violent oppression and transforming it into resistance by way of radical expression. We assert that our 'treacheries': our Queer-ness, our Trans-ness, our Black-ness, our Latinx-ness, and beyond, are actually our most powerful and radiant attributes. So we will do just that. RADIATE.
