"In the Car with Blossom and Len" Concert Reading - A Benefit for National Alzheimer's Association
DICK CAVETT stars in this poignant, funny and moving play about growing up and growing old...not necessarily in that order.  Throughout their formative years, Holly and Fern's parents, Blossom and Len, were wildly unpredictable, endearingly neurotic, and often blatantly dysfunctional. Now that they are in their eighties, they are facing the biggest emotional and financial crisis of their lives. This is a story of what can happen in our own homes.  With modern medicine allowing us to live longer, we may recognize ourselves, our own families or friends - whether through one of the characters, the caregiving situation, or the black cloud of fear that one day we forget where we put the keys and tomorrow we'll forget who we are.  The play's unique brand of comedy has bite, truth and lasting resonance.

Along with Mr. Cavett, the concert reading features Jane Gabbert, Emily Jon Mitchell, Patricia Randell, Babs Winn and Joshua Perl.

DICK CAVETT was the host of the The Dick Cavett Show, which won three Emmys and aired on ABC from 1968 to 1975 and on PBS from 1977 to 1982. He also hosted talk shows on the USA, HBO, and CNBC cable networks. He is the co-author of two books, Cavett (1974) and Eye On Cavett (1983). He has appeared on Broadway in Otherwise Engaged, Into the Woods and as narrator in The Rocky Horror Show, and has made guest appearances in movies and TV shows including Forrest Gump, Beetlejuice, The Simpsons, HBO's Bored to Death, and TBS'S Are We There Yet?. His latest book, published November 2010, is Talk Show: Confrontations, Pointed Commentary, and Off-Screen Secrets. Since 2007 he has written an online opinion column for The New York Times. Mr. Cavett lives in New York City and Montauk, New York.

Director LYNNE TAYLOR-CORBETT was the director/choreographer of Swing! on Broadway for which she received two Tony nominations. This past season she directed and choreographed Cougar the Musical, currently enjoying a successful run at St. Luke's Theatre.  She also recently opened Kurt Weill's theatre-dance drama, The Seven Deadly Sins at the New York City Ballet, with Patti LuPone in the role of Anna 1. She has choreographed several feature films including the original Footloose and Bewitched and has directed plays and musicals all over the world.

Critics have called playwright JONI FRITZ "fresh, funny, and thought provoking," as well as "blazingly honest." "Neil Simon-on-estrogen," raved Newsday about Joni's play Girl's Room, starring Broadway legends Carol Lawrence and Donna McKechnie, directed by Tony-nominated director Lynne Taylor-Corbett.
