Heronswood Classes: Pruning Ornamental Shrubs
Pruning is perhaps the best example of horticulture being both a science and an art. To prune properly requires a solid understanding of the biology and growth patterns of the plant in question, and also an artistic vision of the form you intend it to express. In this class, professional arborist and professor of horticulture Bess Bronstein will explain the basics of proper ornamental pruning of trees and shrubs, including a hands-on demonstration. Please bring any pruning tools and equipment, and all pruning questions that you have.
