Never Look Away - Presented by LA Jewish Film Festival and Consulate General of Germany
Q&A with director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck in person!
Inspired by the early life and career of renowned contemporary artist Gerhard Richter and spanning three eras of German history, "Never Look Away" (directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, "The Lives of Others"), follows Kurt Barnert through his traumatic childhood in Nazi Germany, student life in the Communist GDR, and eventual realization as an artist in West Germany. He falls in love with fellow classmate Ellie, but neither of them knows that their lives are already connected through a terrible crime committed decades ago.
A powerful sweeping drama that will represent Germany as the 2018 Academy Award Foreign Language nominee.
