"Ukulele Elevated" TWO Workshops & Concert with Stu Fuchs
Stu Fuchs (aka "Stukulele") is Grammy-nominated, internationally touring teaching artist and is THRILLED to be presenting a two-part Ukulele workshop & concert in Salt Lake City for the first time!

PART 1 -  "Caribbean Uke: Grooves from the Heart"

The music of the Caribbean is a GREAT way to solidify and refine the basics of Ukulele strumming while exploring new syncopated rhythmic terrain.  Award-winning ukulele teaching artist Stu Fuchs will show you how to play the joyful Caribbean grooves of Ska, Reggae, Rocksteady and Calypso.

This workshop is all about learning to groove better - You'll learn lots of fun and uplifting songs, new syncopated rhythms & strums, melodic riffs, and level up on your rhythm & coordination.

Stu's fun, caring & holistic teaching style of "Ukulele Zen" make his workshops a not-to-be missed experience.  You'll come away with new skills & powerful practice tips to help deepen your music journey.

Be prepared to have a blast getting into the groove!

PART TWO - Ukulele Zen Bandcamp

We'll apply playing & performing techniques in a fun exploration of accessible multi-part ukulele band arrangements.  You'll learn to apply & improve your rhythm, melody & ensemble playing while having a great time together!

We will be playing a variety of songs that showcase the music of The Beatles, James Brown and more.  The "Zen Bandcamp" is always a great time and a fantastic experience!

BOTH workshops are open to ALL LEVELS of player, beginner to advanced.  Some basic ukulele experience strumming basic chords is recommended.

AFTER THE WORKSHOPS Stu will offer a special Q&A session as a "masterclass". Ask your questions about music, ukulele or anything else!

At 4pm, Stu will play a set of his solo ukulele & guitar music, dazzling instrumentals, original songs & stories...and then hangout for an informal meet and greet.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

A LINK TO DOWNLOADABLE WORKSHOP MATERIALS WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU @ TWO WEEKS BEFORE WORKSHOP.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT STU FUCHS & "UKULELE ZEN"

"Many artists give workshops and concerts. Stukulele stands out among them adding wit, intelligence, charm and ease to his teaching and playing style. Plenty of take-aways for both beginners and advanced players. Pittsburgh wants him back!"

Marlene Parrish, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steel City Ukuleles

"You haven't heard the ukulele unless you've heard Stu SHRED on the instrument from Brazilian choro to jazz to his dazzling instrumentals and soulful original songs."

Marion Jacobson, ethnomusicologist and writer for The Atlantic

"Masterful playing and creative arrangements- Stuart Fuchs is a Tour de Force on Ukulele with taste and a heavy finger on the talent button."

Cathy Fink, GRAMMY Award Winner & Producer

"After seeing Stu perform with his gypsy jazz band Babik I just knew we had to work with them. The symphony show they subsequently designed and performed with the BPO was simply fantastic and we were very proud to share the stage with them.  Stu is one of the greatest ambassadors for music I have ever met. Whether he is performing, teaching, or just talking, his passion and artistry shines through. You cannot help being pulled into the music when Stu is around. He is the real deal."

Daniel Hart, Executive Director, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra

"I love Stukulele! His CD combines the playfulness of George Formby, the mastery of Jacob Do Bandolim, and a strong dose of originality. Stu respectfully pushes the ukulele to brave new heights, while keeping one foot rooted in a number of time honored traditions. Like a master juggler, he is part showman, part soul-man, part-instrumentalist, and he is definitely a part of the American Ukulele revival!"

Lil Rev -Author of The Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book Series, Entertainer, Touring Artist

"The staff and children at Corning Childrens Center always look forward to time with Stuart. Whether he is here to perform for our young audience (3 month to 5 year olds)or to teach our school age students the basics of playing the uke, he is a hit! He is not just a talented musician, but also a sensitive, insightful, delightful teacher. If we were into grading, we would give him an A+!"

Peigi Cook, Director Corning Childrens Center, Corning NY
