Droma Fest 08 presents Romski Boji & The Cintron Brothers
The Droma Gypsy Festival 2008 will bring over a dozen Gypsy and Gypsy-influenced artists from Europe and the US to NYC for 9 days of colorful Gypsy spirit (Sept 24 Oct 3). In its 4th year running, the festival will once again present the breadth of contemporary Gypsy music from all over the world with a line-up that includes bands which preserve the original musical forms as well as others that mix it up with electronica, jazz, dub and European-style cabaret.
Brainchild of darbuka virtuoso Seido Salifoski, Romski Boji brings the diverse Balkan Romani dance music to new heights with Macedonian, Turkish and Oriental overtones. The Cintron Brothers are a gypsy rhumba band from NYC via Spain.
Doors open at 6 pm.
