Art in the Garden Tour
The Hastings Prescott Area Art Council (HPAAC) will be sponsoring their Art in the Garden tour on June 15th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The tour features eight gardens on an 18 mile route from south of Hastings to Prescott, Wisconsin.  They provide a potpourri of styles that promise to enchant and inspire the visitor with artfully planted spaces, water features and "upcycled" items turned into garden art.  Each garden will showcase musicians and visual artists.  Garden descriptions below:

Reinardy Country Gardens

Five acres of yard with 15 individually themed perennial gardens featuring a hosta garden with 130 identified varieties, a water pond, a daylily garden, peony garden with rare varieties and iris gardens.   Artwork creations by the family include fence panels, flowers and birdhouses of great variety.

Sarrazin's Farmette

An established 7 acre "farmette" with large gardens showcasing many spring bulbs, perennials and colorful annuals many started in their own greenhouse. You will also meet miniature donkeys, domestic and Canadian geese, muscovey ducks and peacocks making this a unique stop on the tour.

Jardins le Jones

Located between a golf course and a river, these gardens are the pride and joy of the owners.  There are six unique garden areas filled with hundreds of varieties of perennials.  The side gardens lead to the back yard gazebo tucked under huge trees. Visit and enjoy the colorful palettes and wonderful scents and sounds that await you.

Shade to Sunshine Overnight

Following a historic windstorm in 2012 a well known shade garden in Hastings was ruined when 2 large trees were uprooted.  Not to be outdone by nature these homeowners cleaned up the mess, looked around and designed a whole new perennial garden. To allow for constant color there are creatively planted pots of annuals to supplement those in between bloom times.

Rustic Gardens

Set amongst a multigenerational family farm, tradition and a passion for the land create the foundation for these diverse gardens. The newest addition includes a Labyrinth which promotes oneness with nature, mind and spirit.  A walk through the gardens often results in a peaceful and tranquil experience bringing you closer to nature and its bounty.

Indian Trail Gardens

According to local folklore there was an "Indian Trail" that wound down a hill through the thick woods to Kinnikinnic Street in Prescott, Wisconsin. The last part of this trail has been transformed by the John and Jodi who have taken advantage of the hillside by creating 2 water features and ponds, wildflower "prairies", limestone outcroppings, a fire-pit and "cabin" area.

Antiques and Lotus Blossoms

The creative use of granite, iron, street brick, sewer pipes, shutters and an old St. Paul phone booth show this owner's passion for antiques and salvaging unique "junque" in her perennial gardens. Two ponds are separated by a 13' iron bridge.  The small pond showcases a water fall and contains lotus plants; the 16' circular pond makes use of a decorative aerator.

Orange Dragon Gallery

This is an example of how to turn a small space into a garden.  Located behind the gallery it nestles under mature trees and features some plants that never grew in nature, but bloom in this space with pride.  Natural plants survive side by side with those imaginary species created by local artists.
