The Soul is a Work of Art -
AN INTIMATE WEEKEND OF SUFI FRIENDSHIP,
ZHIKR & CONVERSATION
The soul is a "work in progress," requiring knowledge, intention, practice, and imagination. This July we are hosting a heart centered weekend retreat of meditation and zhikr, conversation, and friendship. The purpose of a Sufi retreat is to raise our vibrational level so that we can experience life from a more spiritual perspective. The Sufi path is a path of commitment, courtesy, love, creativity, relationship, and happiness. Sufism offers the methods to free ourselves from the tyranny of our own egos, and to increase our capacity for love. Both are made possible by a direct experience of the underlying sacred nature of reality. We will explore the care of the soul, the poetry of Rumi, and how to build a spiritual practice.
Kabir will also introduce some rarely revealed knowledge on the Sufi origins of the Enneagram.
About Kabir:
Sheikh Kabir Helminski is an internationally respected author and teacher of Sufism in the tradition of Rumi. His books include: Living Presence, The Knowing Heart,The Pocket Rumi, The Rumi Collection, and Love's Ripening. Kabir has toured as Sheikh with the Whirling Dervishes of Turkey bringing Sufi culture to more than 100,000 people.
About Camille:
Camille Helminski is Co-director of the Threshold Society (www.Sufism.org). She is the author of Women of Sufism, The Book of Character, The Book of Nature, and the Rumi's Sun, Teachings of Shams of Tabriz. She is a core faculty member of the Spiritual Paths Institute and has been in the Sufi tradition for more than 30 years.
