Kathryn Claire House Show, with Special Guest Don Henson
Join Kathryn Claire with special guest Don Henson for an intimate evening of music. Funds raised will be directed to Rose Haven, a day shelter supporting women and non-binary folks experiencing trauma and homelessness in Portland.
With her violin and voice at the center of her music, Kathryn Claire weaves together stories and melodies rooted in her classical and traditional musical background while infusing each song and composition with an energy and electricity that is palpable. Her musicality and joy on stage is infectious. Honest and poetic writing, crystalline vocals, impassioned violin compositions, and an ability to move seamlessly across genres, are the hallmark of Kathryn Claire's original and diverse sound. Kathryn Claire has spent years cultivating her own style and approach to music as a violinist, guitar player, singer, and songwriter.She has toured, performed and taught extensively in the US, Japan, The Netherlands, India, Belgium and France.
Her most recent solo album, Bones Will Last was released in 2017 and features a unique collection of songs and instrumental compositions. She and her band are currently working on a new album due out in the fall of 2019.
Rose Haven (rosehaven.org) is a day shelter and community center serving women, children and gender non-conforming folks experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and other disruptive life challenges. Rose Havens mission is to maintain a safe, respectful community while providing our guests with support and services to assist them in regaining stability in their lives.
At the Key Change:
At the Key Change (keychange.org) mobilizes musicians and fans to advance racial and social justice through music and education. At they Key Change house concerts are like any other house show---almost. Every show will include an opportunity to learn more about fighting for racial and social justice in that community, through the presence of partner organizations at the events. Tickets are sold on a donate-what-you-can basis to support the beneficiary organization. At they Key Change is in the process of seeking 501(c)3 status and does not direct funds to political campaigns.
