Arte y Pasión presents TRAVESURAS in "Dibujos de Travesuras" - "Sketches of Mischief" MAY 19
Arte y Pasión presents TRAVESURAS.  Travesuras, which means "Mischevious Pranks" in Spanish, is the creative brainchild of Guitarist and Flamenco Artist Ricardo Diaz.  Travesuras will perform in San Antonio as part of an international tour bringing collaborators together from Malaga, Paris, New Mexico, San Francisco, and San Antonio.  San Antonio audiences will have the rare opportunity to witness the explosive force of world-class flamenco artists of the Concert Theater Stage, in the intimacy of the Tablao setting.  The performance will present Cristo Cortes from France and Vicente Griego from New Mexico, cante; Ricardo Diaz from San Francisco, guitarra; Antonio Arrebola from Malaga and Tamara Saj from San Antonio, baile.   The tour will explode
on May 19th in the matinee production of Dibujos de Travesuras, or "Sketches of Mischief," a series of choreographic sketches exploring the range of emotions we encounter in daily life.  

Antonio Arrebola is one of Spain's most innovative young artists, who has studied with such greats as Pilar Ortega, Belén Maya, Andrés Peña, and Rafael Campallo.  He has been recognized internationally, elating audiences in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Italy, Morocco, Canada, and Japan.  Cristo Cortes, hailing from Marseilles, France from a prominent Gypsy family from Almería, and was immersed in the world of flamenco with the greatest artists, such as Carmen Linares and Paco de Lucia.  Since then, he has shared the stage with the best artists, including Juan Andrés Maya, Andres Marin, Tomatito, and Nino de Pura.  Ricardo Diaz is an international performing flamenco guitarist with over 20 years of experience. He has released his original first Flamenco album "Travesuras" recorded in Jerez, Spain, and has performed and toured with top flamenco artists such as Alegria Suarez, "Canito," Miguel Linares, Cristo Cortes and Alejandro Granados.  Tamara Saj is founder of Arte y Pasión and 2011 winner of the Artist Foundation of San Antonio Bernard Lifshutz Award for "Original Theatrical Production."  She has performed for America's Next Top Model and a National Presidential Convention. She has studied with such artists as Maestro Teo Morca, Antonio Arrebola, Francisco J. Orozco "Yiyi," Ricardo Diaz, Farru, and Omayra Amaya and has shared the stage with such artists as Francisco J. Orozco "Yiyi," Jose Cortes, Roberto Lorente Garcia, Solangel Calix, Bianca Rodriguez, Jose Perello, Félix de Lola, and Timo Lozano.  
Dibujos de Travesuras will take place at the Raices de Arte Espanol Tablao, 1722 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, Texas on Sunday May 19, 4 p.m. Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets, www.brownpapertickets.com, and at the door.  Ticket Prices: $15 General Admission; $10 Youth (12 and under).
