F-5A Thursday, F-5B Saturday, 7 AM -- 2 PM

Compare burned and unburned slopes in a recent fire mosaic
near Peavine Canyon. Hello woodpeckers! Be prepared
for rugged, off-trail terrain and variable weather conditions. Thursday's trip leaders include USFS fire ecologist Mick Mueller, USFS wildlife biologist Janet Millard, and Wenatchee Naturalist program leader Susan Ballinger. Saturday's trip leaders are USFS wildlife biologists Don Youkey and Aja Woodrow. Bring appropriate footwear, good binoculars, and water. Group limit: 12 each day.

Our 11th Annual Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest will once again offer four fabulous days of field trips, hands-on discovery centers, speakers, mellow strolls, strenuous hikes, wildflower walks, birding by raft, pontoon boat or bus ... activities for all ages, all experience levels, and all fitness levels.

Featured this year are keynote speaker John Ruthven, often called "the 20th Century Audubon," Master Birder Idie Ulsh presenting "Feathered Architects," Sarvey Wildlife Center's Alive! Look a Bird in the Eye, bird banding with PSBO, a Songbird concert with Michael Carlos and friends, an artwalk, bilingual activities with Team Naturaleza, and more.
