Central Colorado Conservancy Annual Event
The year's event at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds features a live and silent auction, catered heavy appetizers and cash bar. During the program the Conservancy will present its 2018 Conservationist Award to the Kelly Family who, in addition to establishing a significant conservation easement on their property, has promoted the preservation of local history and water management in Chaffee County. For 62 years the family operated the Hi Rocky store, contributing to the early needs of outdoor recreation in the region.
During the evening the Conservancy's Artists for Conservation will hold the second Through the Artists Eyes art show and sale. The show featuring the work of members of Artists for Conservation, will split the proceeds of all sales, with 40% of sales going to the Conservancy.
Rounding out the program is keynote speaker Robert Michael Pyle. A noted author, biologist and teacher, Pyle's 22 books include Wintergreen, The Thunder Tree, Where Bigfoot Walks, Chasing Monarchs, Walking the High Ridge, Sky Time in Grays River and Mariposa Road: The First Butterfly Big Year. Some of his books will be on sale and book signing will follow his talk.
Tickets are on sale now! Individual tickets are $40 for Conservancy members and $50 for non-members. Tables of 8 are available for $750 and corporate sponsorships start at $250.
