29th Annual WAY to Success Dinner/Fundraising Banquet
The WAY To Success program concentrates on three main areas: School, Work, and Savings. One of the most innovative parts of the program is our long-term commitment. Most other work with foster care youth ends when they leave care. WAY To Success commits to follow and work with the young adults for up to five years-and at times beyond. We help our participants adjust to the demands of life in the real world as they finish high school, move on to higher education, get jobs, open bank accounts, get their own apartments and become parents.
A long term study of the program showed that participants did remarkably well. 80% had graduated or were attending high school. 95% were employed or in school. Only 5% had adult arrests on their record. These are remarkable results and have gained the attention of other agencies, funders and children's advocates.
