Make Love & War3

Join us for our third Make Love + War poly pot-luck picnic lasertag party! We'll be playing 12 minute games of capture-the-flag domination in beautiful 3 acre wooded meadow at a park in Oakland near the Chabot Science center.

The Experience:
Enjoy an afternoon of exciting outdoor lasertag games, while partying and meeting fun new people in the polyamorous and poly friendly community! You're going to have other people shooting at you as you attempt to steal their flag away from them. You're going to hear your teammates scream for help over your radio headset. By the end of this party you'll be exhausted and exhilarated. It will be the most fun you've had in a long time! No lasertag experience necessary.

Where:

Make Love & War 3 is scheduled to take place at an undisclosed location in Oakland, near the Chabot space & science center and the Woodminster ampitheater.

Because our park permit limits us to just 42 players, and we don't want a bunch of party crashers, we'll reveal the actual group picnic site on your registration confirmation email. There is plenty of parking, and carpooling will be available from the Fruitvale Bart station. Unfortunately the AC transit busses that service this park don't run on weekends.

The Game:
We will be playing high-tech Capture-the-flag games using commercial-grade Battlefieldsports outdoor lasertag equipment. The equipment is simple to use, so no lasertag experience is needed.

Our private games will take place in a 3 acre area in wooded meadow. We'll be renting two-way radio headsets for every player so you'll be in constant communication with your teammates. Just like previous events, we'll form 5-6 teams of up to 8 players, keeping the same teams throughout the afternoon. Each team will go through a 12 minute training course, followed by 4 12-minute games during the 4 hour party.

The Party:
Between games we will enjoy a pot-luck picnic and mingle with other poly people. There will be music and fun times. Fresh Lemonade and water will be provided. The rest of the food will be Potluck, so please bring your signature dish, drinks, or something to share! There will be a veg BBQ and a non veg BBQ at our picnic site. We'll provide the compost-ware, cups, and utensils.

Guidelines:
This will be an adult event for poly-friendly people. Teens who are mature enough to hang out at a poly party are welcome.
Alcohol of any kind is not allowed in this park.
Only registered players are allowed. No spectators, since our permit does not allow for our group to be larger than 48 people.
Dogs are allowed but should remain leashed, and shouldn't play lasertag.
There is poison oak in this park, which we will be taped off before the event. Players are not permitted to touch or force others to touch poison oak.

Cost:

$44 per player to cover the park permit, which we had to reserve 3 picnic sites for. This also helps pay for the lasertag and radio equipment rental costs, park permit costs.

Space is very limited- we can have a maximum of 42 people playing. You may register alone or in groups of up to 8 people, if you want to play on the same team.
