The year is 1888 and Professor Van Helsing tells us, "I have long followed the trail of the vampire. It lives on...for centuries...draining the blood...the life from its victims, causing them also to become vampires. And this is our story. The story of a small band of mortals who faced the most powerful vampire of them all."
"Dracula: The Radio Play" is a staged Evansville Community Theatre production of an old time radio show. It features actors portraying multiple roles, sound effects created on stage, and old-timey radio ads written for local sponsors - all performed in front of a live audience. The show is based on the classic novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, and adapted for radio theatre by Philip Grecian. This serious drama is most appropriate for adults and teens.
The three live "Sound Effects Artists" are fun to watch as they bring the show to life - slamming doors, rattling chains, cranking the wind machine, and more! And what really sets the mood is live organ music played throughout the show, just like an old-fashioned silent movie!
COME TO THE MONSTER MASH! 5 - 6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 27 Tickets must be reserved no later than October 25th.
Get in the mood for Halloween and support Evansville Community Theatre - add tickets to the Monster Mash pre-show! Its a Halloween-themed reception and your chance to mingle with the actors!
