The time is the 1970s. The place is Brooklyn, New York. Two Haitian immigrant couples navigate through the ups and downs of life in the US. In the midst of love, faithfulness and the longing for their home land, an unexpected incident strengthens their bond and forces them to face the lingering effects of trauma from the present and the past.

Nancy Fenelon's writing is beautiful, uplifting and honest. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Haitian parents, Nancy Fenelon is a writer with an eclectic style that is inspired by her heritage. She graduated from Hunter College with a BA in English Language Arts and Theater. She received her MS in Education from Touro College. Writing has always been a big part of her life and she began pursuing it more intentionally in 2010.
Producer, Omar Hardy explains, "Stone's in the Water is an exceptional play, with great performances by the actors and strong writing - it is funny, authentic and relatable."
Sherese Parris, Artistic Director of The Black Lady Theatre takes an unconventional approach to directing that reveals honesty and truth in each of the characters. A graduate of Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (London, UK), Parris aims to inspire audiences, community leaders and artists to explore and engage with stories of people whose voices are too often quieted.
Stones in the Water runs November 8 thru 10 at The Black Lady Theatre.
