Kids Draw Architecture (2018 Experience Architecture)
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AIA CALIFORNIA COUNCIL

This educational program was originally created in 1988 by the Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara to connect architects with children and their parents. After 30 years, and much success, AIA Chapters will be hosting this family-friendly sketching event on the same day across California.

Our regions Kids Draw event will take place at the iconic Sacramento Valley Station, our citys historic train depot that was restored and renovated in 2017. Drawing materials, a light snack and water will be provided. The event is open to children of all ages. Children MUST have an accompanying parent or guardian 18 or older participate with them.

Bring your creativity, and your curiosity, and come sketch with architects! Event led by Ida Clair, AIA with support by Yevgenia Watts, Assoc. AIA and Annie Luu, Assoc. AIA

Pre-draw meeting at LPA located next to the station 431 I St., Sacramento; drawing activity at the Sacramento Valley Station, 401 I St., Sacramento (Consider taking light rail, or biking to the station: www.cityofsacramento.org/Public-Works/Parking-Services/Lots-and-Garages/Lockers)

Experience Architecture is a public-outreach event designed to facilitate greater transparency with the public in how architects create our built environment and how it impacts their daily lives; to create an ongoing dialogue to inform a distinct, regional, architectural identity; and to highlight existing relationships between the region and its architecture. The 2018 event is scheduled from October 17th - 21st.
