All Of The Above presents: 365: Aidan O'Rourke, Kit Downes & James Robertson - Stories and Music
365: Kit Downes, Aidan O'Rorke and James Robertson - Stories and Music

A new project bringing together two of the UK's foremost folk and jazz musicians alongside one of Scotlands most celebrated authors.

Sparse and emotive contemporary folk music and improvisation with spoken word - performed by multiple BBC Folk Award winning Scottish fiddler/composer Aidan ORourke (Lau), Mercury Music Prize nominated harmonium and piano player, Kit Downes (ECM Records) and James Robertson (And the Land Lay Still, Joseph Knight).

Inspired by James Robertson's short story collection 365: Stories, in which James wrote a short story each day for a year (each with 365 words!), Aidan wrote a tune each day for a year in response to the stories. Here they present the words and music from the first double album 365: Volume 1 which was is released on May 25th.

Few contemporary musicians in any category can match either his artistic ambitions or his achievements in bringing them to fruition (The Scotsman on Aidan ORourke)

Bravely adventurous - epic and exhilarating (The Guardian on Aidan ORourkes band Lau)

Downes has a quirky talent for making difficult music sound natural  even inevitable (The Guardian on Kit Downes)
