KPU Music Faculty Showcase 2018-19
Now in its third year, KPU Music is excited to present another series of three professional concerts featuring KPU Music Faculty. These themed concerts showcase the diverse talents and connections that our faculty have. The opening concert on September 27 will feature the Borealis String Quartet sharing the stage with one of their international connections, Belgian pianist Gilbert De Greeve. This program brings together poetry, word, and music and will feature selections from Debussy's 24 Preludes and music of Canadian composer Imant Raminsh. To banish the winter blues, the vocal talents of founding faculty member Dale Throness will join with three music alumni and pianists Gail Suderman and Jane Hayes in a marvelous evening of vocal quartets on January 25. To finish, a Musical Menagerie on March 8 will have our President Dr. Alan Davis as narrator and VSO principal bassist Dylan Palmer as guest in a program that will feature Hummel's Military Septet and Saint Saens Carnival of the Animals, joined by 10 KPU Music Faculty across all instrumental groups.
