ORS 45th season closes with a celebration of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, the most performed living composer in the world and another important figure from the choirs history. Describing his work, Pärt famously said, I could compare my music to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear. This prism could be the spirit of the listener. The program includes his Berliner Messe, which was featured on a recording released by ORS in 1993. The singers perform this and Pärts Te Deum with string orchestra, as well as the a capella work The Woman with the Alabaster Box.
