Disarming Our Language
Using our words with deep awareness and intention can transform our world.
Our reality is made of sound, woven from the words we use to describe it. Language is a tool that has the power to enslave or liberate us, depending on how we wield it.
This workshop is an exploration of the power of words and the potential they have to perpetuate or shift internalized oppression, and an experiment in building a language of healing and interconnectedness through: * Writing exercises, * Discussions, * Embodiment practices, * Ritual to unpack colonization, separation, and slavery and explore what we may create together on the other side.
This space will strive for safety and inclusion as we explore potentially intense themes such as racism & supremacy, privilege, sexism, commodification, and intergenerational trauma, in an atmosphere designed to provoke understanding and inspire healing.
Growth lives at the edge of your comfort zone, we embrace that here. Come as you are. Bring a journal and pen, snacks and a lunch, and tools/cozy things to support your comfort
Disarming Our Language is for all of us striving to transform internalized and collective oppression, of all backgrounds.
