Event
Mark Twain At The Yuba Theatre
After a 4 year hiatus(rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated), Mr. Twain continues his journey throughout the regions of Northern California. Recently enjoying enthusiastic houses in neighboring Nevada City, he is scheduled to arrive at the Yuba Theatre in historic downtown Downieville Saturday afternoon June 21st as part of Gold Rush Days! Topics will include his boyhood days in Hannibal, his participation in a confederate militia and his adventures out west. Twain will once again allure audiences with his sophisticated anecdotes and virtuous philosophies. The Sierra County Arts Council is proud to add Mr. Twain's show into the activities scheduled for Downievilles "Gold Rush Days" celebration on June 21st.
Veteran stage actor Chris LeGate has compiled Twain's more popular essays and sketches into a ninety minute portrait of this American icon.
