A family-friendly, low-cost Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner experience, as a community outreach. (Tickets are $18.00, with children 7-12 at $12.00 and children 6 and under eat free.) An important aspect of the Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner is the offering of prayers of gratitude by over 20 members of the interfaith community. Each year, a leader in the local interfaith community is chosen as the recipient of "The Vern Barnet Interfaith Service Award" and this year's awardee is Barbara Criswell of the Pagan community, in acknowledge of her leadership in her community and in the interfaith community at large, as well as in the business community. Each year's dinner is at a different location in the metropolitan area - this year's host is St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 40th and Main, KCMO. The dinner is catered by NourishKC, an award-winning nonprofit providing food and training to area homeless. In addition, Hope Haven of Cass County, a domestic violence shelter, has been chosen as the designated charity for the 2018 dinner.
