Conversations About Sasquatch Behavioral Ecology with Dr. Jeff Meldrum
Dr. Jeff Meldrum has conducted collaborative laboratory research and field work dedicated to the investigation of an unrecognized North American ape, Sasquatch. He has explored Sasquatch's environment throughout the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West, as well as in Canada, China and Russia, and has spoken about his findings in numerous interviews, including NPRs Science Friday and Radio West, television appearances, including the Today Show, National Geographic, Discovery, History, SyFy, AnimalPlanet, etc., and many public and professional presentations. Hear his current perspectives on the lives of these elusive creatures.
Hear what the experts are saying:
"Much evidence concerning Bigfoot has accumulated some of it based on hoax. However, enough solid evidence remains that the possible existence of the creature cannot be ignored." George Schaller, PhD Sr. conservationist Wildlife Conservation Society "I have personally held a long-standing interest in the Sasquatch question. Suggestive evidence continues to be laid before the scientific community by the efforts of serious researchers such as Dr. Jeff Meldrum. This intriguing evidence begs for a sustained effort in the field to resolve the matter definitively." Russell A. Mittermeier, PhD President Conservation International "The growing scientific evidence you have so wonderfully documented warrants that science takes the legendary primate as worthy of investigation. The study of Sasquatch is long overdue." Jane Goodall, PhD, DBE Founder The Jane Goodall Institute
Dr. Jeff Meldrum is a professor of anatomy and anthropology at Idaho State University. Meldrum's involvement in the Sasquatch question began after examining fresh tracks in southeastern Washingtons Blue Mountains in 1996.
He will be signing copies of his recent book "Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science" after the presentation. Books are available now for sale in the museum store.
Stay after the presentation and visit the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center's summer exhibition "Sasquatch Revealed" a traveling exhibition based on curator Christopher Murphy's 2004 Sasquatch exhibition at the Vancouver Museum (BC).
