Childsplay: Fiddlers, Fiddles and Fiddlemaker with singer Karan Casey

Hopefully you have seen the film on PBS about the group and now you will get to see them live and in person! Fiddling supergroup Childsplay, with Irish singer Karan Casey, is a whos who of fiddlers from the United States and the Celtic world. Known to its audience as a celebration of spirited, innovative and exuberant music, this special evening will feature the beautiful singing of Karan Casey from Ireland with the voices of the violins all made by the same violinmaker, Bob Childs. They will be celebrating 30 years of touring by bringing their band of 14 fiddlers and 9 all-star instrumentalists, dancers and singers to the Egyptian theatre in Coos Bay. In addition to virtuosic fiddling, ranging from all-Ireland and Scottish fiddle champions to members of the Boston Symphony, Childsplay features a wide range of outstanding all-star instrumentalists as well as Irish step-dancer Kevin Doyle, a recipient of the National Heritage award, and from Pilobolus, dancer Molly Gawler. Additionally, Childsplay will be celebrating the release of their seventh album, The Bloom of Youth.
