So You Want to Sing A Cappella?

Don't miss this one night only event featuring the man deemed by many as the father of modern a cappella, Deke Sharon. Deke is a musical producer, arranger, vocal coach and singer.

He is the musical producer of Pitch Perfect 1, 2, and 3. He is the producer of The Sing Off worldwide (US, Netherlands, China and South Africa). His latest project D Cappella for Disney, launched this spring.

A prolific contemporary a cappella arranger, he has arranged over 2000 songs that are distributed worldwide. He has also produced several award-winning a cappella albums for groups such as Straight No Chaser, Committed, Nota, Street Corner Symphony and the Tufts Beelzebubs.  

Deke will introduce you to the world of a cappella and how to hone your skills, providing live demonstration with the UAA Glee Club.  

We will have a night filled with entertainment as well. There will be performances from the Alaska Sound Celebration-
Alaska Sound Celebration is Alaska's Premier Women's a cappella chorus. Who have won multiple regional competitions and competed at the International level, placing 13th overall out of over 500 choruses worldwide.

Performances also include the UAA Glee Club and a local high school swing choir.

Join us for an aca awesome evening with a cappella, brought to you by Alaska Sound Celebration Chorus.
