Tributo
Tributo is our humble tribute to the maestros, the master instructors, researchers, and choreographers that have shaped our repertoire over the last 49 years.  Styles, costuming, and arrangements have varied but the essence of their work has lasted through the decades.  Maestros Miguel Vélez, Angel Andrade, and Rafael Zamarripa put forth seminal works from Veracruz, Nayarit, and Jalisco.  Maestros América Balbuena, Jaime Guerrero Hernández, and Juan Carranza represent the next generation, passionately representing their states of Guanajuato, Nuevo León, and Guerrero in México and the United States.  Directors and dancers from Los Lupeños have had the good fortune to work with all of these instructors in person.  Maestro Vélez, no longer with us, has many disciples (including 2018 CCL Artist Exchange maestro Angel Ciro Silvestre García) who ensure that his work is preserved.  As we kick-off our 50th Anniversary Season, we hope that this homage to our deep dance roots sets the stage for all that follows.

The Cashion Cultural Legacy invites you to begin the celebration of Los Lupeños' 50th Anniversary Season this September.  Under the artistic direction of choreographer Samuel Cortez, Los Lupeños de San José will transport you to six different regions of México by staging six master works. Experience Tributo on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 8pm or on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2pm at the Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater (corner of Alum Rock and King) in San José.
