UPDATE: If you are from out of town please contact us - usk.seattle@gmail.com - before making travel arrangements, especially airline reservations. We've had to make some last minute changes on some workshops.
DESCRIPTION: Do you get hung up on a detail, too timid to know where to start and never capturing the bigger image that you wanted? In this workshop we will look at strategies for loosening up and using your intuition to guide you in sketching the big picture.
LEARNING GOALS: 1. Identify the main subject for the focus of the image. 2. Establish consistent perspective angles 3. Determine the lighted side of the image 4. Learn how color can add depth and focus 5. Be bold and enjoy the process of the drawing; dont worry about the mistakes
WORKSHOP PLAN: 5 min: Introductions, orientation 25 min: Instructor demo of the concepts 30 min: Student practice of 2-, 5-, 10-minute sketches 2 hours: Students draw in their sketch location to try out the techniques while instructor circulates to consult one-on-one. 25 mins: Final throwdown and review. Student work is shared and insights and successes shared; questions.
