Ontario Vice
Undercover Detective Constable Rick Shots is a cop on the razors edge playing by his own rules. He is hell bent on bringing down the biggest cocaine dealer in Ontario (and heir to the Tim Hortons fortune), Gord Bouchard. All the while, Shots has to break in a new partner, Undercover Detective Constable House Enriquez, try to maintain his relationship with the love of his life, Becky Tremblay, and avoid getting thrown off the case by ball-breaker Sergeant Patrice Patronez.
This June 28-30, Suitcase in Point will share a workshop production of Brian Foster's original comedy, Ontario Vice, a satirical exploration of American action movies of the 1980s and early 1990s viewed through a Canadian lens. Playwright Brian Foster pays homage to the movies/television programs of his youth (Lethal Weapon, Miami Vice, etc.) and chose to write from the perspective of someone who has a very elementary understanding of Canadian culture.
Using Canada as a backdrop, Ontario Vice puts St. Catharines front and centre before blowing it up to pave the way for Ontario Vice 2 because lets be honest, if this was the 1980s, there would have to be a sequel.
