Petersburg, NJ Rounding out the orchestras annual Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, August 4, Linda Gentille and the Jersey Shore Pops will offer a tribute to Frank Sinatra featuring versatile baritone Peter Oprisko.
As a premiere interpreter of treasured traditional adult Pop, Jazz, and Tin Pan Alley standards, Chicago favorite Peter will thrill the Pops audience with classic songs as performed by the greatest of all American singers, Frank Sinatra.
Peter made his Pops debut in 2011 and was an instant sensation, receiving numerous standing ovations. Owing to the overwhelming response, Music Director Linda Gentille has invited him back for an encore performance. The audience reaction to Oprisko was so fantastic that we simply had to have him sing with us again.
Peter, often described as the "American Michael Buble" or the "next Frank Sinatra," enjoyed a successful career as a writer, actor, voice-over performer, and nationally-syndicated radio host (interviewing and featuring the music of legends like Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Henry Mancini, Michael Feinstein, and their contemporaries) before embarking on a path that has made him one of the country's most in-demand and acclaimed concert and recording artists.
Constantly in demand, Peter tours extensively, averaging 300 performances annually at theatres, colleges, clubs, fundraisers, casinos, and corporations nationwide. With an engaging and interactive style, Peter helps preserve, promote, and perpetuate the rich musical legacies of America's foremost singers and songwriters, appealing to audiences of all ages.
The four-concert Pops Summer Series will be held at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center in Cape May Court House. Each concert will begin at 7:00 PM.
