FIRE IN A DARK HOUSE is a world premiere drama about star-crossed young lovers whose families and community are thrown into turmoil when anti-immigrant fervor sweeps the nation during World War I.  Created by Mona Z. Smith and Traci Mariano, FIRE runs Thursdays at 8:00 pm, September 13  November 15, at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, CA.

In this beautiful and poignant wartime romance, a passionate young woman falls for the son of a newspaper publisher  a politically powerful man who wages a dangerous propaganda campaign against immigrant families, including her own. Drawing inspiration from historical events, FIRE IN A DARK HOUSE explores themes that resonate today, including what it means to be an American, an immigrant, a young Dreamer, and a patriot.

FIREs ensemble cast features Tallula Henderson, Andrew J. Langton, Margy Love, Augusta Mariano, Paul McCrillis, Sanford Reed, and Aaron Stevenson.

FIRE IN A DARK HOUSE is presented in fall 2018 in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of the WWI Armistice of November 1918 and the November 2018 national elections.  Related events include talkbacks after every FIRE performance with the cast and fellow audience members. Follow our FB page @FireInADarkHouse to continue the discussion.

The production will be performed every Thursday night at 8 pm through November 15. Related events include nightly talkbacks with the cast and fellow audience members.
