Private Tour: Not an Ostrich: And Other Images from Americas Library
Literary Affairs invites you to join us at the Annenberg Space for Photography for a private tour of the current exhibit Not an Ostrich: And Other Images from Americas Library. Julie Robinson of Literary Affairs will include discussion of literature we have read over the years that relate to the photographs and photographers on view. The Library of Congress was founded in 1800 making it the oldest federal cultural institution in the nation. It is the largest library in the world and along with the 14.8 million photographs it houses 39 million books and other printed materials.
The website of the Annenberg Space for Photography states, "A nations story is a reflection of its collective and selective memory. Not an Ostrich: And Other Images from Americas Library invites visitors to experience our shared heritage. We along with the Annenberg invite you to join us in celebrating photography, literature and our National Library.
