BLACK PANTHER CONCERT

Working alongside Black Panther composer Ludwig Goransson, as supervised by Kendrick Lamar, Senegalese-born Massamba Diop is the featured drummer throughout the Black Panther soundtrack, laying down the mesmerizing polyrhythmic beats heard throughout the Marvel film, including most scenes in which Tchalla appears onscreen.

For this one-time-only concert, catch the Black Panther energy as Massamba is joined by the crack six-piece Oakland, CA-based percussion band RHYTHM CAFE with guest artists NuDay gospel acapella group, presenting, among other songs, Kendrick Lamars Pray For Me with full voice and drum splendor.

This unique concert brings West Africa and West Oakland together in celebration of the worldwide success of the Black Panther!!

In addition to his award-winning performance in the Black Panther soundtrack, Massamba Diop has been the principle drummer for Senegalese musical icon Baaba Maal (also featured in the Black Panther soundtrack) for over 25 years, and has toured the world as a featured percussionist, appearing at the 2012 London Olympics, Londons Royal Festival Hall, Nelson Mandela Day at Radio City Music Hall, and the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Massmaba's recording credits include the widely-acclaimed Playing for Change album, Carlos Santana, Peter Gabriel, Herbie Hancock and James Brown.
