Affair of the Heart 2018
Affair of the Heart is an annual event held by students from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine in support of a local children's charity. Over the past 10 years, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars for causes such as Little Warriors, Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, Crystal Kids and Basically Babies.

The gala includes dinner, compelling speakers, a silent auction, and outstanding entertainment featuring medical students, faculty, and external supporters. Affair of the Heart 2018 will be held on November 30th at the Mirage Banquet.

This year we will be supporting Basically Babies. Basically Babies (Charitable Registration Number is 86528-8476 RR0001) is the only organization in the Edmonton area whose sole purpose is to provide for the basic outfitting requirements of infants born to disadvantaged families in our community. In the 2012 fiscal year, they provided approximately 400 layettes to help families clothe their newborns.  They strongly believe it is important to communicate, in a practical way, their value and worth, and to give them a sense of the hope and promise that our community has to offer.  More information about the charity can be found at www.basicallybabies.org.
