Written and directed by Harris Doran, the film stars Auden Thornton (LA Film Festival Special Jury Prize: Breakout Performance), Catherine Curtin (OITNB, HOMELAND, STRANGER THINGS 2), Laura Bell Bundy (Tony Nominee: LEGALLY BLONDE), Jeff Kober (SONS OF ANARCHY) and features Deirdre Lovejoy (THE WIRE), Madison Iseman (JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE), Paten Hughes (HEIRLOOM), Ben Curtis, Timothy Morton, and Jameson Fowler.
Inspired by true events, this award-winning film tells the story of Angie, a poverty-stricken young mother in Louisville who must find a new home for her three year old son and her alcoholic mother after their house is condemned. With no money and no options, she must confront the man from her abusive past in order to save her family. From the producer of All Is Lost and Margin Call, Beauty Mark is a powerful film tackling one of the most important social issues of our times. Winner: Los Angeles Film Festival Special Jury Prize Breakout Performance, Woodstock Film Festival Best Ultra Indie Award, San Luis Obispo International Film Festival Best Narrative Feature Award, SENE Film Music & Arts Festival Best Feature Film and Best Actress Awards, and Austin Film Festival Best Narrative Feature Audience Award.
Shot entirely on location in Louisville, the film is fiscally sponsored by the Louisville Film Society and a portion of the proceeds from the film will go to Family & Children's Place, a Louisville based organization working to stop and prevent child abuse.
