LOWLAND HUM @ LOST ORIGINS GALLERY [June 11th]
Join us for a very special evening of songs, stories and artwork from the phenomenal Charlottesville indie-folk duo Lowland Hum!

About Lowland Hum:

Lowland Hum is wife and husband team Lauren and Daniel Goans. Together they invite their listeners to share in the space of vulnerable intimacy they have formed over years of steady collaboration. In the live setting, the duo offers an immersive experience of thoughtful songcraft interspersed with audience interaction and extemporaneous songs about the day's happenings. Their recordings take listeners on a journey through relatable, imagistic poetry exploring themes of memory, longing, confession and identity, and drawing attention to often unnoticed resonances of the everyday.

Daniel and Lauren are a prolific, two-person creative factory basing their operation in Charlottesville, Virginia. They write, arrange and produce all of their own music, and have honed a cohesive design aesthetic to match the hushed simplicity of their sound.

About Lost Origins:

Lost Origins Gallery is a privately owned and operated space located in the historic Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Washington D.C. Lost Origin Productions is an arts and culture focused multi-media company directed by Jason Hamacher. From 2005-2010, Hamacher worked in Syria and was granted unprecedented access to the city of Aleppo. He went to document ancient religious traditions and, inadvertently, captured the apex of Syrias modernization before the eruption of war. He is currently working on several long term projects with Smithsonian Folkways and the Library Of Congress and contributes to the international conversation on Syria with public addresses, media interviews, and frequent exhibitions.

Hamacher built the Lost Origins Gallery to create a space that's inviting, intimate and not monetarily driven. It's common for exhibitions to be chosen based on commercial viability or to meet funding guidelines. The Gallery will host exhibitions and events, in all mediums, based on concept alone.
