Shawano Folk Music Festival
The Shawano Folk Music Festival celebrates its 40th year! You won't want to miss this one. A family friendly weekend event filled with an eclectic mix of music, dance, food and fun. Stroll the wooded paths of beautiful Mielke Park, lined with artists and crafters demonstrating their artistic skills while enjoying the top notch, incredible music lilting through the trees.
Friday and Saturday evening concerts are held inside the quaint, air-conditioned Mielke Arts Center, with a great lineup of performers each night. Saturday and Sunday daytime programs include music, dance, children's programs, craft demos, sing-alongs, and instructive workshops on 4 outdoor stages and other spots on the grounds. Local vendors offer an array of good food. The "Open Stage" offers budding musicians a chance to perform for an appreciative audience.
A special event this year: MASTER CLASSES! Take your musical talents to the next level with an intimate two hour session with Joe Jencks, Andy Cohen or Randy Sabien. Pre-registration is required. Only $35 per session. Classes will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
Our 2018 lineup: Friday concert - Skip Jones with Randal Harrison, Fox & Branch, Joe Jencks, Stas Venglevski & Mischa Litvin, John McCutcheon. Saturday concert - Anna Lee Scully, Randy Sabien, Claudia Schmidt, Jack Williams, Frogwater.
