Science, Nature and a Biscuit- Mason Bees, sting-free local pollinators.
Science, Nature and a Biscuit- Mason Bees
Saturday, June 2nd
2:00pm-3:30pm
Seward Park Audubon Center
$5 per person- includes your buttermilk biscuit

Of the hundreds of native Northwest bee species, Mason Bees are some of the hardest working, sting-free pollinators we can bring into our backyards. Even though they do not produce honey, Mason Bees are forty to fifty times more efficient as pollinators when compared to domestic honeybees. Lila Westreich, a PhD candidate at the University of Washington, will share her research into Mason Bees and lead a walk to visit one of her bee boxes in Seward Park.

This is the third installment in our brand new series called Science, Nature and a Biscuit which invites various local experts to discuss science and nature topics from around the area. In addition to thought provoking naturalist presentations, we will provide food for the body in the form of hot biscuits with butter and jam! What could be better?
